ヒューマノイドロボットの高度な全身バランス制御、受動歩行を利用した2足歩行ロボットの歩行動作生成、シンプルかつ多機能なホームロボットの開発、宇宙用冗長マニピュレータの振動問題や特異点問題の研究、双腕ロボットへの動作生成手法の開発と実用的な作業の実現、柔軟物の操作感覚を提示する実時間ハプティックシミュレータの研究に従事。
