Profile

Associate Professor, Faculty of Human Life Sciences, Tokyo City University. Graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in education from the graduate school of the same university. After graduation, I worked as an elementary school teacher at JIYU GAKUEN Elementary School that was part of the Taisho liberal education movement. In April 2010, I entered the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Social Informatics, Aoyama Gakuin University, in addition to work as an elementary school teacher. In 2016, I completed doctoral studies with a dissertation on psychologist J. S. Bruner (Doctor of Philosophy). I specializes in Brunerian narrative cultural psychology. My research focuses on the theoretical reexamination of psychologist Jerome Bruner's concept of "acts of meaning" to clarify the dynamics of various "meanings" that pervade educational and childcare settings from a narrative psychology. Relying on the work of Jerome Bruner, My research aims to move back and forth between empirical knowledge gained in the practical context of education and theoretical knowledge gained through academic research.
