Abstract
This paper evaluates the cumulative distribution of burst error and the effect of FEC in the symbol rate and modulation level controlled adaptive modulation with TDMA/TDD systems for land mobile communications. Computer simulation confirms that the burst length of the adaptive modulation system is much shorter than that of QPSK, and thereby a considerable BER performance improvement can be obtained when FEC is applied.
