Abstract

This study proposes a rational evaluation method of thermal transient loads in fast reactor components considering dispersion caused by uncertainty of plant system parameters. In the proposed method, the dispersion of thermal stress is estimated by utilizing design of experiment (DOE) method. The most severe combination of plant system parameters is obtained, and the largest thermal stress will be calculated. The probability densities of estimated thermal stress are compared among Monte-Carlo method, the proposed method and conventional design method. The stress obtained by the proposed method has a sufficient safety margin, but it is not too conservative.
