Abstract

Technology of a steel pipe pile installed in a soil cement column has been developed mainly for onshore sites. Advantages of this pile are high performances of axial bearing capacity and horizontal resistance for its small radius of the pile, and cost efficiency derived from the high performances. The design of the pile, however, has not been established yet because of its short experience. In the paper, the design concept on the horizontal performance of the pile is represented including an expanded subgrade reaction model for deflection and yield bending moment of the pile.
