Abstract

During turbulent mixing in a mixing-tee junction heat fronts create a stress field with two distinct nonzero principal stresses, which if fluctuate over time may induce and propagate cracks. This have been shown by so called FAT3D experiments and this study aims to clarify how these multidimensional stress field affect the crack propagation in a mixing-tee junction.
