Abstract

An IP-FRR (IP Fast Reroute) techniques, which are IP recovery Schemes, are proposed. MRC (Multiple Routing Configurations) method has been proposed for obtaining IP-FRR. The MRC method achieves high-speed restoration by using precomputing backup configurations. The MRC method prepares backup configurations, which are used for finding detour router after failures. In a backup configuration, the link cost of the link regarded as a failure point is set to a high value. The node that detects the failure selects the backup configuration which can avoid the failure point. The link cost of two or more links are set to a high value in a backup configuration. Therefore, the number of links that can be used by a detour route is limited, and there is a problem that the load concentrates on a specific link. As an approach to this problem, in this paper, we propose the backup configurations creation algorithm to improve the utilization efficiency of the network resource by optimizing link cost in each backup configurations. The effectiveness of our algorithm is confirmed by our evaluation.
