Abstract
To achieve economical transport of high-capacity IP traffic while providing high reliability in the optical-based core network, our research group has proposed a next-generation Internet backbone architecture called a multilayer service network architecture (MLSN). We have firstly developed a traffic engineering system based on MLSN architecture by implementing PCE providing multilayer path computation and path control. Dynamic multilayer IP/Optical topology reoptimization based on measured traffic was successfully demonstrated.
