Abstract

Mixed-mu magnetic levitation system using the superconductors enables the stability in both levitation and lateral directions without control. But, this system was not firmly established for the method of optimum design, The authors tried to obtain the optimal configuration and sizes using the two-dimensional finite element method, In this paper, the characteristics to the specific permeability mu(s) of the superconductor and the method of optimum design are discussed.
